Ultrasound is a completely pain free, non-invasive technique which uses high-frequency sound waves to produce an instant imaging of your pet’s internal organs. In addition, unlike radiographs (x-rays), diagnostic ultrasound does not use harmful ionizing radiation and has no known health risk associated with its use.

Ultrasounds are particularly beneficial in viewing your pet’s internal organs and evaluating heart functions. Abdominal ultrasound allows the doctor to fully examine your pet’s adrenal glands, spleen, kidneys, parts of the stomach, intestines, urinary bladder, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder.

They also work well in conjunction with other diagnostic tools and a wide variety of diagnostic procedures. For instance, a radiograph (x-ray) of your pet’s abdomen may show an enlarged liver but does not indicate what has caused the enlargement. An ultrasound would allow the doctor to see the liver’s structure in greater detail and could identify specific masses or lesions.

We offer pregnancy checks, global fast (AFAST, TFAST, Vet Blue Lung), and full abdominal scans available. The global fast and full abdominal scans are sent to Oncura for evaluation.
